Summary :
Lifestyle related diseases (LRDs) refer to diseases whose psychophysiology is significantly affected by lifestyle factors, which include obesity, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease and other cardiovascular diseases, stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes, and several malignant tumors. As countries become more industrialized and wealthier, the prevalence of LRDs is increasing due to unhealthy lifestyles. In this context, the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases is extremely important because it facilitates early detection to improve the chances of positive health outcomes.
Therefore, this thesis is part of the data science and computer engineering fields to develop a personalised LRDs risk prediciton management. In this research project, we have 4 main objectives, namely 1) reasonable handling of missing values in the data, 2) intelligent identifying LRDs key features, 3) constructing robust LRDs prediction model and 4) automatic analyzing LRDs risk scores and risk factors.
In order to fulfil its objectives, we propose a LRDs prediction framework based on missing value imputation and stacking ensemble method. The main contributions of this thesis are 1) an imputation method for missing values in mixed-type and imbalanced data, 2) a new stacking-based ensemble approach and 3) an Intelligent LRDs prediction framework.
