Given the growth of electric vehicles and the increasing demand for Li-ion batteries, it is becoming imperative to reduce the pressure on raw materials such as lithium and cobalt. To address this challenge, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling of batteries are crucial strategies to extend their lifespan and minimize their environmental impact. This thesis aims to develop a methodology to reduce the environmental and social impacts of batteries throughout their life cycle particularly based on life cycle analysis (LCA); It seeks to identify and characterize levers for redesigning battery supply chains, taking into account their diversity across countries, manufacturers, and battery types.
